Route description

If you choose this route you will enjoy the labyrinth of channels and lakes in this large garden of the Danube Delta, but at the same time, you will feel the pulse of the fishermen village Sfântu Gheorghe, our destination. You will have a peaceful trip, with the option to visit the Caraorman forest.

When you discover the deltaic landscape, you can't help but reconnect with nature and purify your mind and body. It immediately refreshes you with the cleanest air that we all long for. Through the labyrinths of the Delta you will discover the gifts of nature - a rich fauna and a lush flora. Sources say that the Danube Delta ranks 3rd with over 5,000 species of plants and animals, after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. On our journey we pass through the Erenciuc channel where there is the only black alder reservation in Europe. It is also an area where lives the Codalb eagle.

With each lake and channel we cross, you will explore unique places that are not included in other routes. That's why the places we visit offer the most intense birdwatching sessions and perfect opportunities for photography enthusiasts.

And in Sfântu Gheorghe, this village with deltaic charm at the mouth of the Delta, you find peace like you have never felt before. The famous wild beach of Sfântu Gheorghe is one of the few with fine and shiny sands. In the distance you can see wild horses or the cows of the villagers who come here to drink water. But what is really spectacular is that at the edge of the beach, you will see how the Danube flows into the sea. You will find yourself between two worlds, one deltaic and one marine, two extraordinary ecosystems. But from water and fresh air you get hungry. There is nothing better than a storceag, a fish borscht or a brine traditionally prepared here, either by the locals or at the restaurant.

After this journey, which is like a delight for all the senses, we return home on the oldest arm of the Danube - the Sfântu Gheorghe Arm. This way you have the chance to see even more of this unique world, the only delta in the world included in the UNESCO Heritage.

We are waiting for you on a unique journey!
